Romy Colombatto

RomyRomy Colombatto is an Account Coordinator at Jarvis Communications and is no novice to the wine world. Prior to joining the company, Romy worked as a freelance writer for a long list of clients in the wine and spirits industry including Penfolds wine, the Little Penguin wine, Knob Creek bourbon, and El Tesoro tequila. Recently, she worked as a freelance creative director, assembling and leading a team that developed the brand and designed the first label for the newly opened Skinner Vineyards.

Over the years, Romy has garnered a wide range of experience in the advertising and marketing industries. Working in the corporate marketing department at Countrywide Financial, she learned first-hand how to plan and execute corporate events during the Mercedes-Benz Cup. At Dailey & Associates, Romy managed the creation of online banners and websites for clients such as Ford, Dole, and Intuit, and maintained the weekly updates to the Honda Powersports site.

After leaving Dailey and beginning her work as a freelance writer, Romy expanded her client base across the country, working for a multinational marketing corporation with offices in New York, Amsterdam, and Malta, while also serving as the Editor-in-Chief and column writer for a fashion and nightlife website based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.

In her spare time, Romy began pursuing her higher education — in wine, that is — through a prominent wine and spirits education program, where she was rather surprised by her extremely high blind tasting test scores, despite her few years of being legally allowed to actually imbibe the beverage. She is continuing with the WSET Level 2 certificate this year.

An Angeleno, raised in South Pasadena, Romy graduated from the University of Arizona, with a major in Political Science, a minor in French, and nearly one in Italian. Luckily, she can remember just enough to communicate with her Piemontese family, who has a history of growing their own wine grapes to make their own wine — a tradition that she would love to continue one day.
